Baptism with the Holy Spirit. What does it mean, why do we need it, and how do we get it?
Now let’s discuss how we receive and operate in that Dunamis power.
Acts 1:5 (NRS)
John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
The Voice (VOICE)
That just as John ritually cleansed people with water through baptism,[a] so you will be washed with the Holy Spirit very soon
Acts 1:8 (NIV)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Subjective power comes from objective vision: (Please Note*)
1st the vision, then the power. 1st the objective then the subjective.
We must see from eternity to eternity He (God) has His work to do and every person has a part in that plan of His might in order that we may fulfill His eternal plan. Unless we know the power of God in us, we are useless before Him.
If Jesus couldn’t, or wouldn’t, operate independently of the Holy Spirit, neither should we.
No one can have an effective life or ministry without the power of God’s Holy Spirit working in him or her. This fact can’t be argued by anyone who truly believes the Bible is God’s Word. The Scriptures are complete with proof that it is “not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts” (Zech. 4:6).
So, why is there so much debate over this issue? The sad truth is that denial of the ministry and power of the Holy Spirit is a convenient theology. Believing that miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit don’t operate today excuses powerless living. If it’s true that the Holy Spirit is still willing to move as in biblical times (and it is true), then there is no excuse for living lives so far removed from the victory portrayed in God’s Word.
The number one reason people resist the ministry of the Holy Spirit is because it exposes the lack of power in their lives. And once exposed, it demands a change. (That’s what I have been assigned to do today, push you into that change through Glory Light Ministries).
In an attempt to avoid responsibility for change, many change the Scriptures instead of themselves. Of course, it’s not that obvious, but there is a predisposition against the ministry of the Holy Spirit, so the Scripture is twisted to support those views. Same as many other twisted views; one most recent the views of same sex marriages.
I’m not here to argue doctrine or tradition, I am here to testify of my own experience and to share the Word of truth. Revelation knowledge of the power in the person of the Holy Spirit changed my life and this knowledge will do the same for you.
And Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit to release the Power within. It is up to you to not only receive this dunamis power but to operate in this power as a way of life.
May the Lord help every one of us to discover how to consistently release the “dunamis” out of our lives, so we can impact our generation for Jesus Christ and His Gospel! Amen.
