Holy Spirit The Comforter.
As I face everyday trials and moments of discomfort. I am reminded in my spirit that if trials and discomfort is overwhelming and leading my day, then I am not dwelling with the Holy Spirit. He the Holy Spirit gives comfort. Jesus assures us that He would not leave us comfortless.
Just before Jesus faced the ordeal that would lead Him to the cross, He promised His disciples that another “Comforter” would be sent to them after He was gone.
John 14:16 And I will pray and the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever.
No matter what you face, the Holy Spirit is within you to comfort you. God’s supreme promise is the indwelling of Christ Himself in our hearts by the power of the Holy Spirit. How amazing is it to know that no matter what we go through, the most powerful source of comfort we could ever want is always available to us. Comfort is defined as “to give strength and hope to, to cheer; to ease the grief or trouble of, to console.” Whether we need encouragement, strength, consoling, or hope, it’s always there for us through the Holy Spirit.
Take a moment relax, breathe, close your eyes and imagine (see yourself) in the arms of Jesus, comforting you. Stay as long as you like. Glory. That’s the power of the Holy Spirit connecting you to Jesus to receive Him as the comforter.
We serve the only true and living God, He Gives Comfort.
