2026: The Year to Spiritually Recharge
Spring is in full bloom. Flowers are blossoming, trees are clothed with fresh leaves, and the beauty of God’s creation surrounds us. May reminds us that God is always at work, bringing life, growth, and renewal to every season.
Just as nature is refreshed during spring, the Lord desires to refresh and strengthen His people. May is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with God, and allow Him to spiritually recharge us for the journey ahead.
“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”
— Isaiah 40:31 (NKJV)
As we continue embracing 2026 as the Year to Spiritually Recharge, let us remember that God never intended for us to live exhausted, discouraged, or disconnected from His presence. He invites us to be renewed daily by His Spirit.
🌿 Abide Before You Achieve
In today’s world, there is tremendous pressure to do more, accomplish more, and move faster. Yet Jesus teaches us a different rhythm.
Before He calls us to produce fruit, He calls us to abide.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.”
— John 15:5 (NKJV)
Fruitfulness is not the result of striving; it is the result of staying connected to Jesus.
When we spend time in His presence, meditate on His Word, and cultivate a life of prayer, our souls are strengthened and our spiritual batteries are recharged.
Perhaps you’ve been trying to carry responsibilities in your own strength. Maybe you’ve been pouring into others while neglecting your own soul.
Jesus lovingly says:
“Come back to Me. Rest in Me. Remain in Me.”
🌸 God Makes All Things Beautiful in His Time
May is filled with evidence of God’s faithfulness. Everywhere we look, creation testifies that life follows seasons.
There are seasons of planting.
There are seasons of waiting.
And there are seasons of harvest.
If you’ve been waiting on God for answers, healing, provision, or direction, don’t lose heart.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
— Ecclesiastes 3:11 (NKJV)
What may seem delayed is not forgotten.
God is still working beneath the surface.
Just as flowers don’t bloom overnight, spiritual growth often happens quietly. Trust His timing. Trust His process. Trust His promises.
🌞 Recharge Through Rest
One of the greatest gifts God gives His children is rest.
Rest is not laziness.
Rest is not weakness.
Rest is worship.
Even Jesus withdrew from the crowds to spend time with the Father.
“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”
— Luke 5:16 (NIV)
Perhaps the most spiritual thing you can do this month is to slow down.
Take walks.
Spend time in worship.
Read Scripture slowly.
Sit quietly with Jesus.
Allow Him to refill your heart with peace and joy.
Because when we rest in Him, we are strengthened for what lies ahead.
🌼 Growing in the Fruit of the Spirit
Spiritual recharge is not just about feeling refreshed; it’s about becoming more like Christ.
As we remain connected to Him, His Spirit produces beautiful fruit in our lives:
- Love
- Joy
- Peace
- Patience
- Kindness
- Goodness
- Faithfulness
- Gentleness
- Self-control
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.”
— Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV)
These qualities become visible when we allow the Holy Spirit to nurture and strengthen us.
May this month be a season of spiritual growth and fresh fruit.
🌺 Celebrate the Faithfulness of God
As May unfolds, take time to remember all that God has done.
Think about the prayers He answered.
Reflect on the doors He opened.
Remember the storms He brought you through.
Celebrate the victories, both big and small.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”
— Psalm 103:2 (NKJV)
Gratitude is one of the greatest ways to recharge your spirit.
Praise shifts our focus from problems to promises.
And when we remember His faithfulness, our faith is strengthened for the future.
✍🏽 Two-Way Journaling Questions
Spend quiet time with Jesus and listen for His voice.
🌿 1. Jesus, what area of my life are You inviting me to surrender so I can experience greater peace and renewal?
Write down what you sense Him saying.
🌸 2. Lord, where have I been striving in my own strength instead of abiding in You?
Listen carefully and record His gentle invitation.
🌞 3. Jesus, what fruit of the Spirit do You want to cultivate more deeply in my life during this season?
Allow Him to reveal areas where He desires to grow you.
🌺 4. Father, how are You spiritually recharging me for the assignments and blessings ahead?
Receive His encouragement and promises.
🙏 A Prayer for May
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the beauty of spring and the reminder that You are always bringing new life. Recharge our hearts, renew our minds, and restore our souls. Teach us to abide in You and trust Your timing. May we walk in the fullness of Your Spirit and bear fruit that glorifies You.
Help us to slow down and enjoy Your presence. Strengthen us for every assignment You have prepared and remind us that our strength comes from You alone.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
